Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Finesse, operated by Arush Kukreja ("Finesse," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your access to and use of the Finesse iOS app, website, and related services (together, the "Service"). Please read them carefully. By creating an account, joining the waitlist, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

01Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of someone else, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for them.

02Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By using Finesse, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

03The Service

Finesse helps you understand your money. After you securely link your financial accounts, the Service may, among other things:

• Sync and display your accounts, balances, and transactions;
• Show forecasts, safe-to-spend figures, and category breakdowns;
• Suggest budgets based on your historical spending and track progress against them;
• Detect spending anomalies and surface alerts and positive-reinforcement insights;
• Identify recurring charges and subscriptions and estimate their cost and timing;
• Send push notifications you've enabled.

The Service is provided for your personal, non-commercial use. Features may change, and we may add, modify, or remove functionality at any time. The numbers, forecasts, and categorizations shown are estimates based on data from your financial institutions and may not always be accurate or up to date.

04Your account

To use most features you must create an account using an email and password or Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. We may enable on-device biometric locking (Face ID / Touch ID) as an additional protection, but you remain responsible for securing your device.

05Bank connections & Plaid

Finesse uses Plaid Inc. to connect to your financial institutions. By linking an account, you authorize Finesse and Plaid to access and retrieve account and transaction information from your institution on your behalf, and you agree to Plaid's End User Privacy Policy. You represent that you are the owner or an authorized user of any account you connect. We do not receive or store your bank login credentials. You can disconnect institutions in the app at any time or manage access at my.plaid.com. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or actions of your financial institutions or of Plaid.

06Subscriptions & billing

Finesse may offer paid subscriptions that unlock premium features. Paid plans are sold through Apple's in-app purchase, and billing is handled by Apple under your Apple ID. By subscribing, you agree to the applicable price and billing terms shown at the point of purchase.

• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew for the same period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the period.
• Managing & canceling. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple ID account settings on your device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Free trials & founder pricing. If we offer a free trial or promotional/founder pricing, the applicable terms are disclosed at sign-up. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
• Refunds. Purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are subject to Apple's policies. We generally do not control or issue refunds for in-app purchases.

07Not financial advice

FINESSE IS AN INFORMATIONAL AND EDUCATIONAL TOOL ONLY. IT IS NOT A BANK, BROKER-DEALER, INVESTMENT ADVISER, TAX ADVISOR, OR FINANCIAL PLANNER, AND IT DOES NOT PROVIDE FINANCIAL, INVESTMENT, TAX, ACCOUNTING, OR LEGAL ADVICE. The budgets, suggestions, forecasts, alerts, insights, and other outputs of the Service — including content generated with the help of third-party artificial-intelligence providers — are for your general information only and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date. You are solely responsible for your own financial decisions. Always verify important figures directly with your financial institution and consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions. Your use of the Service does not create any advisory or fiduciary relationship between you and Finesse.

08Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose, or connect accounts you are not authorized to access;
• Reverse engineer, decompile, scrape, or attempt to extract source code or data except as permitted by law;
• Interfere with, disrupt, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems;
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission;
• Upload malware or use the Service to violate the rights of others or any applicable law.

09Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, and the "Finesse" name and branding, is owned by Finesse and protected by intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. We reserve all rights not expressly granted. Your financial data remains yours; you grant us the limited rights needed to operate the Service for you as described in our Privacy Policy.

10Feedback

If you send us feedback, ideas, or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use them for any purpose without any obligation or compensation to you.

11Third-party services

The Service relies on and links to third-party services — including Plaid, Apple, our cloud and AI providers, and your financial institutions. We are not responsible for the content, policies, performance, or actions of these third parties, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We do not guarantee the continued availability of any third-party service or any bank connection.

12Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DATA OR CALCULATIONS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE, OR THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED. YOU USE THE SERVICE AT YOUR OWN RISK. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

13Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FINESSE AND ARUSH KUKREJA WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ANY FINANCIAL DECISIONS YOU MAKE BASED ON IT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) USD $50. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

14Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Finesse and Arush Kukreja from any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

15Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends, and the sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive (including Sections 7, 9, 10, and 12–18) will continue to apply.

16Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. When changes are material, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Service.

17Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Virginia, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there. Nothing in this section limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under the laws of your place of residence.

18General

• Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
• Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
• No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it.
• Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
• Apple. If you use the iOS app, you acknowledge these Terms are between you and Finesse, not Apple, and that Apple is a third-party beneficiary entitled to enforce them. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app.
